a little background on this photo: my mother was born in 1959, when she was born her mama went home with a helpful tip booklet full of baby ads. this is one of the actual ads from the booklet. currently my mothers birth certificate remains in this incredibly well kept booklet and when I was pregnant with my son she busted it out and we laughed so hard at all of the ridiculous “tips and tricks”. little did we know that my son would be born on her 50th birthday (a few minutes after she was born, no less) and that this very booklet would become a cherished heirloom in our family.
